The daily mission of the Youngstown Vocations Support Society is to pray "asking the Lord of the harvest to send workers into His harvest field" (Luke 10:2). Working closely with the Office of Clergy, Vocations, and Religious Services of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown, we work to foster and promote vocations to the ministerial priesthood and religious vocations of the Catholic Church and to develop appreciation of the ministerial priesthood and of all religious vocations in the Catholic Church, and to further Catholicism by encouraging its members, in fellowship and through education, to fulfill their Christian baptismal call to service.

Annual Summer Seminarian's Picnic
Our group held its annual Summer Seminarian Picnic on Thursday August 17th, 2023 at Saint Luke Catholic Church in Boardman, Ohio. We welcomed over 100 people including YVSS members, seminarians and their parents, and members of the Knights of Columbus. A special thanks to Msrg. John Zuraw, Sr. Mary Alyce Koval, and the parishioners of Saint Luke for hosting us.
Bishop Bonnar as Main Speaker
On Monday October 9, 2023 we welcomed Bishop David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown, to our monthly dinner meeting. The bishop shared a meal with us and spoke about the importance of praying for and support Vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Thank you Bishop Bonnar for taking time out of your busy schedule to be with us!
